IBF Overview

The Irish Banking Federation (IBF) is the principal voice of the banking and financial services sector in Ireland.  We provide representational leadership for our membership through the development of solutions that meet the changing needs of the marketplace.

We are the authoritative voice of the retail and international banking sector in Ireland. Through our Associate network we offer many of the benefits of membership to the leading professional service firms.

IBF mobilises the sector’s collective resources and insights to deliver superior value and benefits to members enabling them to build competitive and sustainable businesses which support the economy, customers and society.

IBF maintains open and sustainable relationships with stakeholders - politicians, policymakers, regulators, representative groups and the media, enabling us to broker and advocate positions that command the broadest possible support consistent with our members’ priorities.  We also represent the sector’s interests in both formal and informal fora and with government and non-government agencies on a diverse range of issues.  This enables us to lead in creating solutions which positively shape public policy and the external environment in which members can operate competitively and profitably.

Through our active membership of the European Banking Federation,  sister organisations  and our well-established EU and international networks, we are uniquely placed to bring timely  representation, insight and influence to bear on the shape of international regulatory thinking and initiatives.
